1. Stand your Christmas tree in a bucket of water in a cool place until you're ready to take it indoors to decorate.
2. Cut off at least 1 inch from the bottom of the trunk to encourage your Christmas tree to drink.

e-christmas. A Christmas tree stand will help position your Christmas tree upright. Don't use sand or soil as they restrict how much the tree will drink.
4. Stand your Christmas tree in the coolest part of the room. Next to a window is best and avoid radiators.
5. Water your Christmas tree everyday - but keep the water away from the fairy lights.
